Elephant Nature Park 1Day Tour
In October 2013, during my month long tour of Thailand, I decided to go to Elephant Nature Park for a one day visit while I was in the Chiang Mai area. I met many fabulous people on my tour, and was lucky enough to have Ruby as a tour guide. We fed and bathed the elephants, touched the elephants, learned about the history of the park, talked to the mahouts ("trainer") of the elephants, met the founder of the park, Lek Chaillert (an amazing dynamo of a woman!), and hung out with volunteers and the many rescued dogs at the park. I discovered a place on this planet that is truly good and virtuous. I returned to my hotel room that night, and decided to go back to the park for a one week Volunteer program (starting the next day). Those photos will be forthcoming. The park has forever changed my soul, and was the HIGHLIGHT of tour of Thailand. If you have any questions about these photos, please let me know. Please visit http://www.saveelephant.org to learn more about this wonderful place. Aloha, Kelli
